Dew Retting Flax is more environmentally friendly than water retting and dew retting lends more of a gray color whereas water retted is more blonde. If you're unfamiliar with the process of preparing Linen do yourself a favor and look it up, it's fascinating!

Please note that as this is a natural fiber so some slight variation from bump to bump will occur and, just like most wool fibers, there will be an odor that comes along with working with these materials.

I don't hate this product BUT I hate the condition it came in.  To say it smells like a manure filled barn on a hot summer day is putting it mildly.  Six buckets of soapy water to get it clean.  Would have been nice to have known a high "odor" in the description.
