Artist Bio / Statement
I have been a watercolorist for about five years, and about six months ago, I began silkpainting. I live on the island of Oahu in Hawaii and paint from the beauty around me. I love the birds, plants, and flowers here, and they make perfect subjects for silkpainting. Hula dancers, shells, and Asian style art have also been inspirations for me.
I use Jacquard silk dyes, Marabu Silk, silk paint, and Dye-Na-Flow silk paint, as well as Jacquard Water Based Resist. I enjoy the way the dyes flow on the Silk Satin and Silk Charmeuse scarves, all of which I buy from the wonderful people at Dharma Trading. I also use their square 8mm Habotai scarves as wall hangings.
