This liquid wetting agent is very helpful when dyeing tightly woven fabrics or for generally increasing evenness of dyeing. Calsolene Oil breaks the surface tension of the water and 'wets-out' the fabric making it easier to dye. Add 2 tablespoons per 8 lb. washing machine load or 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water before adding predissolved dye. It can also be added to concentrated dye solutions for direct application as in tie-dye and handpainting if the dye is not spreading enough.

Great stuff. Also Accidentally found out it breaks up those hopeless pills and scratchiness that develop in fleece and other fuzzy fabrics over time.

Very good product! It really does help to dye more evenly even with blues. I haven't had the chance to test it with red yet but considering how well it worked with blue I have no doubt that it will do nicely for all other colors.Again shipping is the only reason that I don't order more often. I've looked for shipping discounts and promotions it's discouraging to when you select your items then get to the checkout and shipping is often twice as much as the product.

Dyes seem to dissolve very well using this. Definitely needed for dissolving dyes with red components

It was an optional recommendation but I wanted to give myself every chance to win and get a great RED dyed garment. Calsolene Oil is stated to break the surface tension of the Non-Iodized Salted water so there will be less streaky dye results. That's EXACTLY what happened. Not ONE streak just even beautiful dye. Yay!
