This Pure Wool Fabric is very similar to our Pure Wool Gauze Twill Fabric but its a slightly heavier weight, with a slightly tighter weave.

I recently purchased a large amount of this wool with the intention of dying it. I dyed other wool as well from four other different sources in the same dye vat. All of the other sources of wool died a brilliant red this wool came out a light rose which surprised meAs I had thoroughly washed it with synthropol ahead of time. But what I really didnt like was that this fabric dyed unevenly. Certain strands of yarn took the dye much better than others creating stripes of darker red on a pink background. This wool has a lovely hand but I do not recommend using it to dye with

I really love the "hand" on this fabric. It is luscious! I used it for some shaped resist stitch samples with natural dyes. The heat required for the dyes made it felt a bit and definitely shrink but I have been thinking how much I would love a garment made from this wool.

Very lightweight see through runs easily. I embroidered it with yarn curlicues on my sewing machine to reduce snagging later on. Havent dyed it yet. Frays well for intentional fringe.

Purchased to shibori dye with logwood as the outer layer of a light coat love the hand for a long dress also.
