Cellulose Scour Instruction
Per pound of cellulose fiber, use 5 percent (1.5 Tablespoons) of scour and 2% percent (2 teaspoons) of soda ash. Dissolve the soda ash in hot water.
Add both ingredients to a pot large enough to contain the fibers and stir. Add fiber and bring the heat to 180F, carefully rotating the goods in the pot.
Hold the goods at 180F for 30-45 minutes, then carefully remove and rinse the fibers.
