The silk cord is 12mm Crepe de Chine silk, sewn as a bias strip which is then turned. The fabric's own seam allowance provides the filling inside the shaped cording. There is nothing else stuffed into the cord, just the silk itself. Width of cord is about 1/8 inch.
You can dye this silk cord any color you like using our Dharma Acid dyes. Use this cord for stitching, quilting, jewelry, macrame, whatever moves you. Add beads, found objects, precious metals. The possibilities are vast and varied. Found a cool use? Let us know!

I don't love the type of silk used (not sure what kind it is but it is too "rough"). Would rather the silk be softer and have more of a shine to it.

I used to LOVE this silk. I wish you would have your supplier sew with a nicer silk ie: Charmeuse or some other prettier silk. The fabric is rough and there is no shine. I was not happy to find the nice fabric replaced with something so inferior to your old quality. When you get another fabric please let me know.

This is not the same product I purchased in the past. Very rough with no shine. Please go back to the better silk cord. Your service is always the best. Very quick response to orders.

Takes dye beautifully! This really is silk Shantung more than Dupion but I'm enjoying the hand and the quality is very nice.
