All joking aside, we now have great 100% wool felt for you to dye up in any color you want for all kinds of craft projects. This is a great base to start out with for needle felting and wet felting. Save yourself a lot of time making pre-felts and get right into the creative part of your work. Great for kids crafts, Christmas stocking, tea cozies (and who doesn't love a tea cozy?)
Fabric Details
- 100% Virgin Wool Felt
- 36" wide
- 7 oz per sq yard
- The thickness is .115 of an inch +/-10%.
- You can dye this with Our Dharma Acid Dyes
- Suggested usage; hats, flowers, animals, quilts, key fobs, hair pieces and much more!
- Available in cut yardage and in 10 yard bolts
- Hand wash cool and hang dry. When washed with hot water and put in the dryer in high heat it shrinks down to almost half the size. 42% in width and 38% in length disclaimer.

I have been looking for a long time for 100% felted wool that I could use in a project. This product exceeded my expectations. My project was to create an ironing board pad that would allow steam and heat to move through my fibers while still remaining firm. My purchase allowed me to cover 2 ironing boards and both are working as I had hoped.

This felt is just the right thickness. It is strong enough to hold up under dyeing and washing. I use natural dyes and it dyed beautifully. I am using it to make slippers. They are a bit thin for that but I'm reinforcing it with a foot pad. Thank you for providing such high quality materials.

I loved this felt. Making window covers for my grandsons and was not looking forward to spending hours preparing prefelt. This means I can go directly to the artistic phase. Saving 3 or more hours of work for under $20 is a real boon for me though it may not be for everyone.

Did not love this product. When I washed it and dyed the felt it stayed very loose and open like a scouring pad more than felted fabric.

Makes wonderful padding for a GREAT oversized ironing board a la Martha Stewart. Using a steam iron results in a slightly sheepish odor which doesnt bother me in the slightest. I made one over 5 years ago and promptly after using it for the first time gave away my standard creaky narrow metal ironing board and Ive never once missed it!

This is really lovely virgin wool fabric. I bought it to use as a base for needle felting. I use Artfelt paper as a base for most of the needle felting I've done and it works wonderfully. I thought this fabric might work as part of the process instead of using all wool roving but it doesn't work well with the Artfelt paper. I washed and dried it in order to prefelt it a bit more before adding additional roving and it worked much better and without Artfelt paper. I've used it as a base for felted coasters and hot pads and it adds a nice dimension to the finished product. I would buy it again.

As soon as I got my mitts on a sample of this I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. It's substantial enough for me to sew first and felt later - perfect. I haven't dyed it yet but I'll report back when I do. I looked all over for reasonably priced felt yardage and I'm super glad Dharma carries this. Thanks.
