Spun silk broadcloth is a nice mid-weight flat woven silk fabric. It has a very crisp hand, tight weave and a subtle sheen. At 23 momme this silk is strong as can be, opaque even when left white, and yet still drapes well.

- We found that this shrinks 6% in Length and 2% in Width disclaimer
- Available in cut yardage and 55 yard bolts
- Machine wash in any temperature water

Got 10 yards of this on a gamble--but I am so pleased with the weight and hand of this fabric. It has a subtle sheen and decent thickness for making an unlined kimono it also takes natural dyes very well. I would love to see a 60" wide option!

Nice smooth silk but not glitchy like China silk. Heavy enough for actual clothing 23mm is about the same weight as muslin. Worth every penny.

Made a very nice backing for a silk quilt. Silk pieced top silk batting and this as the backing. Everyone wanted to know where I got it. The weight was right and the feel is buttery soft.

Great for a substitute fabric that is like cotton so it dyes easily when wet with Color Hue dyes. So not only works well for quilters but also garment makers. Love how soft and swingy it becomes after dyeing.

Lovely soft silk. I low immersion-dyed it in Kingfisher blue and had lovely mottled effect. Used it to back a wedding stole.

My favorite silk for a subtle sheen and structure dyes beautifully with natural dyes. Wider widths would be appreciated but I can get by with this.
