You've all asked for it - so we finally got some. Sateen has a very smooth finish on one side; kind of a silky sheen. This softer, finely woven fabric is used for lots more than just quilts! Strong, attractive, and dyes up fantastically with our Fiber Reactive dyes!
Fabric Details
- 100% cotton, Optically Whitened
- 4.2 oz per square yard, 45" wide
- Thread count is 150 threads per inch x 80 threads per inch
- You can dye this with Our Fiber Reactive Dyes
- Suggested usage; shirts, blouses, home decorating, quilters etc.
- We found that this shrinks 6% in Length and 4% in Width disclaimer
- Available in cut yardage and in 20 yard bolts
- Machine wash in any temperature water
Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.

This is a wonderful fabric -- soft subtly sheened and launders up nicely. Unfinished edges fray a good bit but that's my only real complaint with it. It dyes up beautifully and that sheen is there even after dyeing. I've used it both dyed and undyed for constructing costume garments.

Thank you for making up the shortage in my previous order of this cloth.I just want to re-iterate that this product is no longer 'Dye ready'. It needs laundering before dyeing.

I love working with this fabric and have purchased it many times. Ive used it in ice dying rusting and this purchase indigo dying and Shibori. It takes dyes well and with the sheen gives a wonderful effect.

This is a very nice fabric. I've been searching for what I know as old fashioned "polished cotton" and this seems to be fill that bill. It's very soft with a subtle sheen on one side and doesn't appear to wrinkly easily. The feeling of it is almost sueded. I ordered a Kaufman cotton sateen from another source at the same time and the two fabrics are nearly indistinguishable. Haven't washed it yet so I don't know what the shrinkage will be or how the hand will change but I'll be ordering more of this soon. I hope it dyes well. Very happy with it so far!

The sheeen is very subtle on this fabric but the drape is very smooth and heavy and it takes dye wonderfully.
