Clearance Disclaimer

This Rustic Faille Handwoven 100% Cotton comes with woven selvage edges. It is not a slubby fabric (like duppioni or shantung) but instead it has small narrow even horizontal "ribs". We're describing it as a beefy faille. The color is more of a light cream and dyes beautifully. Save frayed threads to sew on buttons. Great for Renaissance and reenactment costumes and all types of home decor projects. We recommend using fray check, binding, or a zig zag stitching line across the cut edges before washing.

I'm using this for face masks. The raveling is insane but if you want to take the time to zigzag raw edges it can handle washing reasonably well. I think the weave might be too breathable to be ideal for masks (has to be lined with something with a tighter weave) but for regular clothing it would be fine. I get the sense it might not handle heavy duty uses like backpacks since the weave is a little looser than it looks. It does take color very nicely and would work well for jackets and loose pants. It has a lot of sizing or finishing or something so the first step of laundering before dying is important.
