SolarFast Thickener is used to increase the body of SolarFast dyes for screen printing applications. SolarFast may also be thickened for more control when applying the dye with a paintbrush, stamp, block print, applicator or stencil.
SolarFast thickener is powerful stuff: 1 tablespoon will easily thicken 4oz of dye! That means one bottle of SolarFast Thickener will thicken 10 bottles of Solar Fast dye!. SolarFast may also be thickened with sodium alginate, Super Clear or another natural thickener, but SolarFast Thickener offers great economy.

A little goes a long way. I recommend shaking rather than stirring--the thickener needs to be "vigorously" mixed in with the dye and shaking works fasterbetter. The thickener creates a wonderfully creamy consistency--ideal for screen printing. And screen printing with SolarFast is awesome--no heat setting doesn't dry in the screen and prints are completely soft.
