Artist Bio / Statement

I have been working with the batik process longer than I would care to admit. People that I haven't seen in years ask me, "Are you still tie-dyeing?" Well, batik is not quite the same as tie-dye, and I still think about getting a real job.
Batik is a process of applying hot wax (a resist) to a fabric and dyeing the fabric. Besides dyeing, I also paint and spray the dye directly on the fabric.
I work mostly on cotton knit clothing purchased from Dharma. I use Procion Fiber Reactive Dye and a combination of waxes.
In the process of dyeing, usually some dye creeps under the hot wax giving interesting halftones and unpredictable results. I have garments ranging from tiny baby sizes to 4XL adult.
I sell mostly at art fairs, some by mail, and some from my home.

About Tiered Discount Levels

You can combine cotton and rayon clothing & accessories to get the greatest discounts. Your discount is figured on the total number of cotton and rayon items we ship, not how many of each type, style or size. Mix and match them to get the best discount.

Example: adding 4 each of 3 different T-shirts in any sizes will give you the 12+ price on all 12 shirts.
