Featured Artist : Cathy Rozzelle

Cathy Rozzelle's expertise is in mixing and applying colors with such subtleties, so that beauty radiates in her paintings and clothing. Cathy's creative development began while taking fashion design courses at Woodbury College. Her formal education included watercolor, printmaking, air brush, drawing, design, lithography and silk screening. Collectively, this lead to producing various designs and exhibiting them in several local art shows.

Within the past few years, Cathy has begun to express her talent through silk painting. Silk painting is the art of applying dyes using batik wax, resist, salt, and other techniques to create one-of-a-king silk paintings, women's apparel, and textile designs for home furnishings. The silk painting process produces a rich luster that cannot be found in any other medium. Cathy continues to capture this unrivaled beauty with her gifted talents.

I use the Dupont and Tinfix silk dyes, silk scarves, wax, bottles, droppers, and brushes.
