Moondancer Creations was my brainchild after one too many nights of insomnia, which resulted in tie-dyed sheets. I had started tie-dyeing in 2001, progressed into teaching a small group of inner city kids one summer about the wonders of tie-dye, and then it was an off-again on-again relationship with colorful chemistry. I had always wanted to start my own business, and with Dharma Trading Company's assistance, I'm making my dream happen, one order at a time.

Looking at a solid white surface usually provides enough inspiration to get colorful. There are so many different ways to tie and apply dye (not to mention the veritable rainbow of colors available), assuring that while you may have a pretty good idea of what the project will look like when completed, the element of surprise will almost always be present when rinsing and unbinding the material.

The Procion dyes, soda ash, urea, Synthrapol, and Reduran all have a special place at my dye station. One simply cannot get vibrant, lasting colors with run-of-the-mill, store-bought dyes. It's just not possible. Reduran is a life-saver with the seemingly magical way it strips stray dye off skin -- I consider it as much as\ necessity for dyeing as synthrapol. Dharma Trading has awesomely competitive prices on all the chemical goodies and a great selection of clothing blanks and sizes to fit just about anyone. It's quite literally a one-stop shop for all the things one would need (or want) to embark upon the journey of textile art creation.
