The Easy Fix Fabric Stretcher Frames are easy to use, modular, versatile, durable, and an inexpensive fabric painting frame system. Great for stretching any fabric and many pre-made scarf sizes for crafts such as silk painting, batik and fabric painting. Strong plastic which can be simply wiped clean after use. It allows maximum and continuously adjustable tension and comes with a nylon storage/carrying case.
The system is made of 4 plastic bars with clever corner connectors that allow for size adjustments. The bars are riddled with holes into which fit the special suspension hooks attached to pegs. A set of these hooks are included with each frame, and are available separately also. The Extension can be added to the System to make a larger square, or to make a longer skinny frame to accommodate many different scarf sizes.

I got the SF1 and extension. They have made my life much easier. The best thing is the ease of tightening up the silk after wetting. It is very easy to clean and it doesn't take up any space when broken down. Great product!

Flimsy poorly designed poorly manufactured. The holes and connectors do not align properly. Thus you cannot bump or move your work even slightly without risking the connections coming apart and messing up your work. Definitely not sturdy enough for rectangular scarves but might work for small squares up to 22 inches stretched (not a format I ever use.) Only two cross-supports provided for the two (yes TWO) sets I purchased and the connectors do not lock to keep the frames together when you tilt them to provoke flow or special effects. Also missing is a way to create a long rectangle shape because the corner bars only go one way so your fourth corner will have to be gerryrigged -- I use duct tape for that. If you need to move the framed work off your work table the whole thing falls apart causing huge headaches and probably ruined work. Very sorry I bought these. I will stick to home-made pvc frames from now on.

I have the basic frame with extenders. The corners do not lock properly in all four corners at once which greatly lessens the stability of the product. I believe I'm going to drill my frame to make the corners fit correctly and use wingnuts to make the extenders more stable.

I have the basic the small and the extender and I am hooked! :) Once you do it the first time it's super easy to put together. It's easy to clean easy to adjust to a huge variety of sizes (especially with the extender) and when broken down it takes up as much space as a standard umbrella. Love it. Woo-hoo!!!

This frame is not good. Flimsy hard to put together very cumbersome the holes dont align the hooks to hold the silk are flimsy and keep popping out. I could go on and on. I am returning it and will have to pay for the postage and restock fee. I am so disappointed.

Yes they can be finicky. Still a great system for stretching the fabric taut for paintingdying. Use them on a flat surface and if you have to move it hold by 2 sides then check everything is still taut. When youre done leave it where it is until the fabric is dry and you should have no problems. Worth the investment IMHO. I have multiple.

Expensive and fairly useless! I'm so disappointed in this set. I bought the basic frame and extenders plus the claws in order to paint rectangular scarves but the claws are difficult to adhere to the fabric and don't stay in place and can leave holes in the silk.

I purchased mine about 6 years ago for a 5-day workshop. I kept thinking something was wrong with me as it kept falling apart in the workshop. The instructor berated me the whole time for purchasing it...along with just being an unpleasant person. I finally looked at the reviews here as I have the time to pull everything out and set it up and see my issues were and may still be common? Wsste of my money. Cant even sell it in good faith. Ill just go make a pvc frame.

Love this stretcher. Have ordered the extension and extra hooks. I'm a full time batik artist and have been using this for 6 years stretching cotton fabric in various sizes up to 45" long.

I ordered new hooks and found them much thicker than ones I bought several years ago..they put large holes in the silks ...I would recommend getting the Chinese suspension hooks

I found this frame to be frustrating. The pins and hooks popped out with the slightest movement. After playing with it awhile it worked fine and everything stayed in place. It's okay but I don't find it to be convenient and it's a bit too fragile for me.

Good idea but poor execution. Pins won't stay put. They pop out and the very first time I used this (in a class) I lost one of the white corner pegs. Neither white nor red pegs stay in the holes securely and the instant there is tension on the pegs they pop out. One expert recommends putting blue painters' tape over the pegs (once they are in the frame) in order to keep them in place. This frame is very frustrating to use and requires additional fiddling and materials in order to make it work correctly.
