Combines the utilitarian strength of the twill weave with the natural strength of silk! A fabric with an obvious weave but still maintaining a smooth texture that is easy to dye and paint. It is a nice weight, with a wonderful drape, great luster and excellent durability for the weight of the fabric. Ideal for more tailored styled garments like tailored blouses, pants and lined lighter weight jackets.
Fabric Details
- 100% Twill Silk
- 12mm, 45" wide
- You can dye this with Acid Dyes or any other silk dye
- We found that this shrinks 6% in Length and 3% in Width disclaimer
- Available in cut yardage and in 55 yard bolts
- Machine wash in any temperature water
Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.

This fabric dyed well using Procion dye and the tub dyeing technique for silk and wool. I made it into lovely dresses.

Love this silk! I had ordered a swatch beforehand and then ordered a few yards of the fabric. Wow! My plan was to use it on the neckline (only) of a kimono jacket I am making but after dyeing it with Dharmas indigo dye I decided I wanted to use it on the blouse I was making also! It is strong drapes beautifully and has a beautiful luster to it. If you need a great silk for garments this is it.

I purchased this silk to paint on with Pebeo Setasilk paint and it's wonderful. It's got a soft yet strong hand to it. The weave is very light and gives my work a very subtle natural vibe. I only use this for wall hangings but I think it would work well for some wearables.
