- Machine wash in any temperature water

This fabric is very pretty with a great drape and the weight was just right for the flowing but slightly translucent dress I was trying to make. It took dye quite well and I didn't notice quite as much shrinkage as the page warned. I did notice a bit of a change in the texture once it came out of the pre-dye wash though it became a bit more "grainy" and lost most of the sheen it had before I dyed it once the process was done.

You know I have been ordering this material for years--even back in the dark ages when I had to order out of a catalog. The fact that I still get my silk from Dharma Trading says it all.

This is my favorite silk fabric so far. Dyes beautifully so soft and luxurious against the skin and the slightly pebbled texture gives it more of a subtle luster than an outright shine. For this reason it is more versatile than satin in my opinion and it is slippery enough to layer without catching against other fabrics.

I have not used this piece yet. In general this weight is a favorite because of its luxury yet it is light in our hot and humid climate.

Bought five yards of this maybe two years ago and finally recently used it. Very easy to sew with (for a silk) and took dyes well. Used Dharma acid dyes on one little kimono jacket and Jacquard Red Label on a vest (batik design). Both worked well and the soy wax seemed to all come out with steaming and hot water wash. Liked the fabric so well that I just ordered 15 more yards.

I did not know what fabric is better for scarf batik . 12 or 16 mm. Thank you everybody for your reviews. It helped me to make decision. I received this fabric today and very happy This is perfect for silk painting.
