Kona Bulky is the "big daddy" of the Kona merino superwash family. 4 ply, machine washable on a gentle cycle. Dry flat or in the dryer on "air" setting. Like all the Konas, it puffs up beautifully after dyeing and washing. Ideal for quick-knit and warm baby blankets, and anything requiring against-the-skin cuddliness.

  • 100% superwash merino wool
  • Approximately 8 oz., approx. 210 yds., 1 skein
  • Approximately 12 sts per 4" on US 10-11 or 6-8mm
  • Dyes great with Acid Dye

I used this for an Irish knit (Fisherman) patterned afghan and the pattern came out good--well-defined.  I wanted the family who I knit it for to be able to wash it easily.  I gave it a light machine wash and then blocked it and it seem to come out fine.  It does seem to pill or shed a bit but I'm thinking it will settle down.  It is so soft !!  I'd use it again.
