Inca Cotton Yarn

Inca Cotton is an organic, heavy-worsted to chunky weight cotton, with a thick n' thin texture, soft and squishy. We've seen this knit up into cuddly baby blankets and baby garments, and throws for the wool-sensitive folks. Be sure to wash your swatch as you intend to wash your finished project, to allow for the natural shrinkage of cotton. We feel it only gets better, the more it's washed.

Organic, you say?
GOTS, or Global Organic Textile Standard, is a certification organization. What it means to be GOTS certified is that a product meets that organization's standards for how the fiber is grown, cultivated, processed and dyed. That is, the fiber is organic and the mill that the yarn is spun in also meets Organic standards. For this particular yarn we rely on our supplier's representation that the fiber is organic. The mill they are spun in is not so certified, so GOTS certification is not available. This particular yarn is therefore what is known as a Non Certified Organic yarn.
