Blue-Faced Leicester wool, or BFL, is almost as fine as merino, but a bit stronger. It's light, resilient, and a dream to work with. This lovely high-twist 4-ply sock yarn is blended with nylon for even more strength, and will make long-wearing socks and delicious shawls and accessories. Machine wash gently, and air dry.

I dyed this yarn by sprinkling the dry acid dye onto vinegarwater prepared skein. Nuked the plastic wrapped yarn for four minutes and after cooling and rinsing the yarn lost almost no color and is gorgeous. Cant wait to knit Sox!

Takes dye beautifully. Machine washable. I make socks with it and they wear wonderfully. Best sock yarn I have ever used.

It must be the nylon but this yarn takes color so vibrantly! And it's very sturdy absolutely perfect for socks. I think it's denser than merino (or this is just a tightly spun yarn it's the only BFL I've worked with) because 40g usually gets me to the heel (toe up women size 9 shoe) but for my first pair with this yarn 40g didn't even make it to the arch increases. Oh no I guess I'll just have to buy more
