My name is Marina Gutierrez, and I am a self-taught fiber artist, as well as a Certified Artisan with the Department of Tourism of Puerto Rico. I am the owner of Hand Dyed Silk by Marina.
I have used Dharma Trading products since the first day I started experimenting with silk painting and batik over 15 years ago. Dharma Trading has been my supplier of Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes for my Batik and tie-dyeing, which I do on habotai silk and chiffon silk scarves. To make my silk paintings, I use Pebeo silk dyes on flat crepe and silk charmeuse, using gutta applicator bottles with metal tips to apply the gutta. From Dharma, I get all the chemicals (soda ash fixer, urea, sodium alginate), tools (Tjantings and beeswax, silk stretcher frames) and most of all, the books that I need
I know that I can always review the "techniques" section when in doubt, or call the friendly staff at Dharma Trading for assistance.
