The Soie Naturelle Blanc 3 Ply now comes in a whiter material which is a higher quality and made in Italy. Soie Naturelle ("natural silk") is a slightly nubby noil silk, spun from the short silk fibers left after the longer fibers have been reeled off. Noil silk is not as strong as reeled silks. Ideal for weaving and crochet. Try stranding it with a wool or mohair to make it more pliable.

I love using silk noil fabric and thought I'd try out this silk yarn for weaving with. It's comparitavely about a 52 size cotton weaving yarn and has a nicer sheen and smoother texture than I thought it would. The hank is huge too! It's a great deal.

This is a beautiful matte yarn quite thin. It drapes nicely and takes dye like well silk. Perfect for my project (mixed media jewelry).

Soie Naturelle has a nice drape and a slightly slubby texture. I've made a couple of scarves with it and I'm planning on doing a sweater next.
