Featured Artist : Suzanne Morgan |
My name is Suzanne Morgan and I have loved all things fiber related since I was very young. I started dyeing silk about 8 years ago and just last year found nuno felting. Wonder of wonders, a new career began! Nuno felting, also known as laminated felting, is the process of agitating wool and other lightweight fabrics together to form one highly textural fabric. With my diverse fiber background, I have taken the medium in two ways. First, I create fun silk yardage which can be made into scarves and shawls. I also saw the application for smaller, more artistic compositions so I created the artist’s packs, journals, cuffs and purses for people who enjoy doing small compositions.
I primarily use Dharma’s MX dyes on the silks because I love the creative freedom the MX dyes allow and I love Dharma’s customer service. My color inspirations come from nature. How can we top the beauty that surrounds us? I think the greatest challenge is just to be still and notice what is there for all of us. My wish for all of you is that you listen to and act upon your creative dreams. There is some real magic there. Happy Creating!
