The Breeziway venture began in August, 2007, just weeks before Sandra's wedding in England. She and her partner, Paul, found themselves in the midst of a wedding reception at a hotel in Bedford, England, where they stopped for a glass of wine during a stroll along the river. Sandra was ready for her special day, except for the decision of what to do with her hair.
She was totally fascinated by the beautiful headpieces worn by many of the women at this affair. After some research, she made a feather piece of her own to wear on her wedding day. Sabbatical from her professorship provided time to explore this new avenue of expression. She studied with a Royal Milliner in London, and Breeziway as a business venture was born.
Although Breeziway uses a range of materials in its wedding and special occasion headpieces, feathers are the most dominant theme. Breeziway uses Dharma dyes to customize the color of feathers in those pieces where color is the desired look. Feathers are an absolutely stunning way to accent any outfit. Popular in Europe and Australia for sometime now, they are showing up in the runway collections of many designers. The growing international client-base of Breeziway suggests that this trend may continue to grow. We have been very happy with the range and results of Dharma dyes. Thanks Dharma!
