Featured Artist : Jill and Zach Matteson | Inspiring Color Tie-Dye

We are Jill and Zach Matteson, a mother/son tie-dye duo. We started tie-dying using Dharma products as a fundraiser for Zach. Fundraising grew into our business, Inspiring Color Tie-Dye, and we sell our creations at local farmer’s markets, craft shows, and online at www.inspiringcolor.etsy.com.

In the beginning, the best decision we made was to purchase an Advanced Tie-Dye Techniques DVD from Dharma. We got all the information we needed to get started and thrive!

We exclusively use Dharma’s fiber reactive dyes and textile detergent. We purchase the majority of our fabrics, clothing and dyeables from Dharma. We especially love the rayon butterfly dress and 5mm silk veils. We have created and dyed some really fun things with bamboo fleece, silk and cotton fabrics such as rainbow flaxseed therapy snakes, lap blankets, and crib quilts. Zach has recently begun experimenting with batik on T-shirts using Dharma’s soy wax. We love what we do and dream of expanding and sharing our work for several years to come.
