Featured Artist : Ife Franklin |
Hello, My Name is Ife Franklin, and I am an Adire artist. I live in Roxbury, M.A. I own IfeArt Wearable Art. I create one-of-a-kind hand dyed and designed clothing for women, children, and men. I am also working on a home decor line. I studied the Art of Adire at the School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with master Adire artist Stanley Pinckney. I have been creating Adire for the past 16 years. As an African American, it is my desire to continue to not only create and sell my own work, but to be one of the many that help to keep this African art form alive. I sell my work from my home and at crafts events in the Boston area. I have been buying my "blank pieces" from Dharma for about three years now, and I love the panchos, T-shirts, cotton shoulder bags, kuta shirts, and the many other fine products that Dharma offers.
I want to say a big thank you to Dharma for having the featured artist section. I dont have a website yet and this is a way for me and other artists to have a "web presence," so that our work can be seen by others. I can be reached by email: IfeArt@hotmail.com
Peace and Love,
Ife
Cotton Shoulder Bag
Here's a well made and functional shoulder bag made with flat woven cotton & sewn with cotton thread.
The "Kuta" Shirt
I saw this shirt on the Kuta Beach strip in Bali and thought it was very cool. Kind of floats on your body. Good choice for tie-dyeing.
