Ramie Top

An interesting bast fiber from a plant in the nettle family, Ramie is a remarkably strong natural fiber that exhibits even greater strength when wet. Similar to flax, it is known for its ability to hold shape, reduce wrinkling, and introduce a silky luster to the finished appearance of a piece. It is not quite as durable as other fibers, so it is generally blended with cotton or wool. After blending, shrinkage is noticeably reduced when compared with a pure wool garment. It is similar to linen(flax) in density and absorbency. Ramie can act as a wonderful, natural replacement to nylon.

This Ramie Top has not been measured or certified for micron count but we would say it is medium or fine. Certainly not coarse.
