SolarFast dyes are used to create photograms, continuous tone photographs, shadow prints, and ombres on fabric and paper. SolarFast is also great for painting, tie dyeing, screen printing, stamping, batik and more! Permanent on all artist papers and natural fabrics including cotton, linen, canvas, silk, hemp, and wool. Color is washable and lightfast and leaves fabric completely soft.
This set includes enough supplies to customize up to eight T-shirts and is recommended for ages 8+.

- 3 - 2 oz bottles SolarFast dye (Orange, Voilet and Blue)
- 1 - 2 oz bottle SolarFast Wash, for washing prints

I dye silk scarves. I thought I would try the solar dyes on my scarves. Not so good. While the technical process is just like it reads in the directions the learning curve was pretty steep and producing a good quality print using found objects (leaves keys etc) was not very satisfying. I think this process might work better for smaller images (like the size of a piece of paper) instead of a large piece like a scarf. Also there is no way to tell how the colors mix since they are a very light milky shade of whatever the color is. It was hard to tell where the two colors overlapped as I painted them directly on the silk to get various colors. I probably will not use this product again. Probably good for kids & photographs on shirts.

Like this and will continue to use it. It simplifies the screen printing process. A good product. Reasonable enough to at least give it a try.
